Get to Know 2008's Kids

Donate Online — Children of Chernobyl Foundation in San Diego is now accepting online donations through PayPal. Use the button on the left to make your contribution today. We really appreciate all the help our donors give us each year, and the kids are especially grateful!

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT, YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE OR OPEN ONE IN ORDER TO MAKE A DONATION - Once you click the link to make a donation, using PayPal is easy - If you have a PayPal account, simply log into your account and complete the transaction. If you do not have a PayPal account, use the section titled "Don't have a PayPal Account?" and continue to follow the on-screen instructions.

Sponsor a child — It costs $1,650 to bring a single child over for the Summer. It is as a result of your tax deductible donation that many deserving kids will be able to come to San Diego to rest and to receive much needed medical attention. Please contact us for more details.

Be a San Diego host-family — Your warm generosity as a San Diego host-family for a visiting child from Belarus would provide a boost to the health and spirits of not only the child, but also to their family, friends and community who worked hard to get their young one into our respite program. To become a San Diego host family, please complete the San Diego Host Family Application. For more information, please visit our Host Family Guidelines.

Traditional donations — In view of the economic situation in Belarus, we have to assume the entire financial responsibility. Every donation brings us closer to the goal of helping as many children as possible. For a donation of $20 we will send you a set of our beautiful art cards.

Be an art patron — Outstanding paintings donated by young Belarusian artists are on exhibit in San Diego every year. Proceeds from the sale of these paintings will be used to cover the cost of airfare, medical insurance and visas for our young visitors. Donations in the form of a purchased painting are partially tax-deductible. For more information, please visit our Art page.

Be a project volunteer — Since our organization consists entirely of volunteers, additional volunteer support is essential to our project. Our organization can use volunteers with various types of expertise. We would welcome your inquiry on how you could help the Chernobyl children. Some of the tasks with which we need help are fund-raising, administrative support, public relations, and transporting the art. If you are interested in any of the above or have other ideas as to how to apply your skills in helping us reach our charitable goals, please e-mail us at info@GiveHopeSanDiego.org. One of our team-members would be happy to discuss your prospective work with our organization.

Wish List — Our Wish List contains requests for used items needed by our Belarusian families.

Questions/Comments? Please leave us a message at (619) 814-3790 or e-mail us at info@GiveHopeSanDiego.org. One of our team members will respond as soon as possible.
RELATED PROJECTS

Sponsored by CCF and the Belarusian Youth Organization of Mozyr, we are planning to do a makeover on the home of Natasha Mitskevich and her elderly grandma.

"Dom," the Russian for "home," conjures up images of the aroma of fresh-baked dark bread, a toasty warm fire, and thick goose-down quilts for those cold Belarusian winters. Not so at Natasha Mitskevich's dom, which she shares with her frail grandma. Living in abject poverty, their tiny flat is in disrepair, suffering from years of filth and infestations. Every child deserves a clean, safe, and secure home. Let's turn Natasha's dom into a warm and welcoming place, so she can invite her "druziya"--friends--over for sleepovers!
